Each user account in tube.tracker® has their own picklist and it can be utilized to streamline the workflow of certain procedures.

Adding specimens to the picklist

  1. In order to find the location of our specimen we need to search for it. Follow the steps described in the Searching for a specimen help section.
  2. Once you have found the location of the specimen, click the Add button next to its listing in the search results.

View the picklist

  1. Click Picklist in the left-head menu.

  2. The Main Picklist screen will now appear. The main picklist screen serves multiple purposes by displaying your current picklist and providing a jumping-off point for many other operations.

Print the picklist

  1. Once you are viewing the Main Picklist screen, click on the Print Picklist button.
  2. This will create a new browser window displaying a printer-friendly version of the picklist.

  3. In your new brower window, click File and then click Print.
  4. Select the printer you wish to send the print job to and then click Print or OK depending on wich browser you are using.
  5. After you have printed the picklist it is safe to close this browser window.

---+++ Remove specimens from the picklist

  1. On the Main Picklist screen you will see a checkbox in front of each specimen listing.
  2. Click the checkbox for the specimen you wish to remove from the picklist. %X% Note: _you may remove more than one specimen at a time from the picklist by checking all appropriate checkboxes._

  3. Once you have the specimen(s) checked, click the Remove from Picklist button. This will take you to the confirmation screen.

  4. Click the Yes button if you wish to remove the selected specimen(s) from the picklist. If you made a mistake, or do not wish to remove the specimen(s) from the picklist, click the No button. If you clicked the Yes button the specimen(s) will be removed from the picklist and you will be taken back to the Main Picklist screen.
  5. If you wish to remove all specimens from the picklist you can either check off all of the specimens by clicking the top checkbox to the left of the Specimen ID column heading or you can click the Clear Picklist button.

---+++ Remove specimen from the system

In addition to the normal procedure for [[DeleteSpecimens][deleting specimen from an existing rack]], you can also delete specimens from the system via the picklist.

  1. From the main picklist screen, click the checkbox associated with each specimen you wish to remove from the system.
  2. Click the Delete from System button. This will bring up the confirmation screen.

  3. At this point you can attach a note to this event. To attach a note, click the Add Note checkbox and the note text area will appear. Type the note into this space.
  4. After checking the list, click the Yes button to confirm that specimens should be deleted. Click the No button to cancel the operation and return you to the Main Picklist screen.

---+++ Transfer to a new rack

At some point you may wish to transfer specimens that are listed in the picklist into a new rack. This gives the benefit of a mass transfer instead of manually creating a new rack and then transferring each specimen individually.

  1. From the Main Picklist screen, click the checkbox associated with each specimen you wish to transfer into a new rack.
  2. Once the relevant checkboxes are check, click the Transfer to new rack button. This will bring up the Picklist Transfer screen.

  3. From here select the container in which the new rack will be stored, the type of rack and the rack ID of the new rack. You can also attach a note to this event. To create the new rack and transfer the selected specimen(s) click the Add Rack button. If you made a mistake and wish to cancel the transfer click the Cancel Transfer button.
  4. Clicking Add Rack will bring up the transfer confirmation screen.

  5. The transfer confirmation screen has several sections:
    • New Rack Information: This section displays the values for the container, rack type, and rack ID of the new rack.
    • Specimen(s) to transfer: This section displays the specimen ID, source location of the specimen and the destination position in which the specimen will reside in the new rack.
    • Clear specimen(s) from picklist after transfer: Check this box if you wish to clear all of the specimens involved in the transfer from the picklist. Leave unchecked if you want to specimens to stay in the picklist.
  6. Provided all of the information is correct on the confirmation screen, click the Transfer Specimen button to finalize the transfer. You can also cancel the transfer by clicking the Cancel Transfer button.
