There are a number of circumstances in which you will need to view the contents of an entire rack. Whether you need to verify that all of the specimens were entered correctly, wish to print out a list of the rack's contents, or you simply want to view the history of a certain rack. All of which can be done quite simply.

  1. Click View in the left-hand menu under the Racks heading.
    View rack menu

  2. This will bring up the View Racks screen.
    View rack start screen

  3. From here there are two ways to find the rack you are looking for you.
    1. Search using a rack ID: If you know the rack's ID, you can use the search function to find it. (See Viewing Racks by its ID.)
    2. Browse containers: If you do not know the rack's ID or you wish to just browse an entire container. Note: See Viewing Racks by Browsing Containers.

Viewing Racks by its ID

  1. From the View Rack start screen, type in the Rack ID you wish to search for into the search field and click the Search button.
    View rack search field

  2. The next screen to appear will display the results of your search. Any racks that were found matching your search criteria will be listed. If the rack you are looking for appears in the search results, click its Rack ID to continue onto the next step.
    View rack search results

  3. You are now viewing the contents of the rack. This screen is broken up into two sections:
    1. Rack Contents: This section shows the entire contents of the selected rack. You will notice that each specimen listed in the rack is clickable. Clicking on the Spec ID will take you to the tracking history for that individual specimen.
    2. Rack History: This section shows the history tracking information for the rack. Tracking events are restricted to rack and container level events. No specimen tracking information will be shown.
